Abstracts and Contributions
Abstract submissions are now open for the UK National Earth Observation Conference 2026.
We invite contributions from across the Earth Observation (EO) community, including academia, industry, government, and early‑career researchers.
About the Programme
The UK National Earth Observation Conference provides a platform to share advances in EO science, innovation, and application, and to explore how EO supports decision‑making, policy, and impact across sectors.
We aim to create a balanced and inclusive programme that reflects the diversity of the UK EO landscape, spanning fundamental research, operational services, and emerging opportunities.
What We Are Looking For
We will welcome abstracts and proposals that:
- Present new or ongoing EO research
- Demonstrate innovative use of EO data and technologies
- Showcase EO applications and real‑world impact
- Explore challenges, lessons learned, and future opportunities
- Support knowledge exchange between research, industry, and policy
Conference Themes
Abstracts submissions are invited across a broad range of topics from fundamental research to industry and policy applications, including (but not limited to):
Earth System Processes
Geosciences; oceans and coasts; cryosphere; inland waters; hydrology; and interactions across land, ocean, atmosphere, and ice systems.
Climate, Weather & Global Cycles
Climate change, meteorology, atmospheric chemistry, carbon cycles, teleconnections, and Earth system exchanges.
Ecosystems, Biodiversity & Biomass
Biodiversity conservation, habitat and ecosystem dynamics, biomass monitoring, and terrestrial to coastal ecosystem processes.
Risk, Resilience & Hazards
Disaster prediction and response, early warning systems, resilience, infrastructure risk, national security, and dual‑use applications.
Sustainability, Society & Policy
Sustainable development, environmental decision‑making, social impact, and policy applications of Earth observation.
Beyond Earth & Space Systems
Space weather, planetary remote sensing, and links between space and Earth systems.
AI & Digital Infrastructure
Advancing the use of Earth Observation through AI, data platforms, and digital infrastructure to enable scalable analysis and end‑to‑end data workflows.
Proposals that cut across themes or demonstrate collaboration between sectors are especially welcome. For more information on themes and topics shared by our programme board Click Here.
